Are you as chaffed as I am about Firefox 3? Wow, it’ll do this and that. Great, and whose paying all the people who now must upgrade every single plugin to get it working with Firefox 3? I’m choked! Do you use your Firefox browser for work? Good luck eh? Now simple things we took for granted like, session crash recovery are a thing of the past.
Forget using that cool Morning Coffee Plugin which would load up a set of tabs and automatically log you in. Now replaced by some dog icon that asks me on every single tab, every single time to click it’s semi-transparent text box, if I want to logon.
And just when I was getting something done. I already had my fun with hackers in April and took almost all of May to recover our builds. Now just when I was really liking my work, Firefox makes as big a change as Microsoft did with Vista over XP. Swell isn’t it.
Okay, so there may be one or two plugins worth mentioning, but if you still have Firefox 2, I would advise you and your office to stick with it until all your plugin developers finish coming out with the new upgrades. Otherwise, you’ll be where I was last year in January 2007 when I went to buy a new computer and was forced to buy pre-installed Vista OS. I remember those days. All my hardware peripherals, like printers and scanners were useless until June.
And if you had some cool theme on your Firefox Browser, forget about it working ever again. Basically, all your themes and plugins are now worthless and all you will get will be whatever plugins were developed in the inside loop development team. The biggest loss and the Firefox 3 cruel and unusal punishment is not being able to do a rollback to version 2. You can’t even get the download to it.
And yes, I know it was necessary for Firefox to make version 3. The biggest problem was memory leaks. Version 2 would take half a gig on my machines. Now at least it only eats 150MB. I wish I would have known about all those plugins not working with Firefox Version 3. Each few days goes by with me asking, “Will my favorite plugins ever comeback?” How about you? Do you have the Firefox 3 Blues? It’s okay, we take all confessions here in the comment section.
