Five Sure Fire Ways To Turn Visitors Into Repeat Customers.

Recently I came across in a forum about reviewing a website. It was a nice site, but I wrote the web owner and gave a word of caution perhaps. I looked at the first one and it is a feed site, meaning no original content. I then had my next piece to write about and thought why not add some more value on how to attract visitors.

*NOTE. The photo above is from my one of my own blogs and not the site I am speaking about here. The reason is most people do not want their money making site used as a poster child for site improvement. And besides, they will always make the immediate changes and what good is that for you to learn from once they do?

Please feel free to add you “useful and usable” tips here and I’ll make sure your great ideas get published here. You can use links to your examples if you like or your own site. But please realize this site is rated general, so if your site is not for general viewing, I won’t be able to use it, sorry about that. Also, this blog you are on now is beta, meaning there is nothing to buy and nothing we sell. Just great ideas you can use to keep you out of trouble on the web. The methods below are not used here for this reason, as we are not trying to “monetize our visitors,” LOL!

Five Sure Fire Ways To Turn Visitors Into Repeat Customers.

Use any or all of them. If you want to get more traffic to your site with SE’s, try adding some user experiences to your site.

1. Try using coupons. You can have your visitors sign up or register for a percentage off or monthly coupons. Or simply place a coupon code near selected products. Or have a separate feed they can subscribe to for all your weekly or monthly deals with coupons to use. You can even entice visitors to sign up as above to get your weekly specials.

2. Let your visitors tell you what they want a deal on. One of the best methods of getting people right up to the check out line is to let them fill in a simple form on your site which says something like, “Tell us what you want a deal on.” Or “Make me an offer I can’t refuse!” Then place a little message underneath describing you new service.

3. Offer a viral free e-book. You can either make it a sign up with their email to get the download. Or you can just give it away. Inside the e-book, you can have right up front an “Important message for website owners.” Or say, “Make this e-book your very own for your own website free of charge!” Do a search for “viral e-book software” on Google. There are alot of free and low cost software that will guide you through this very simple process. You can make a pdf right online for free. Again do a search for “free pdf maker,” or “free online pdf maker.”

Make this e-book all about your niche. You don’t have to be photoshop wizard either. A simple 125 X125 pixel square graphic will do the trick. Make it look nice. You can even do search for this as well and be able to make a simple snapshot photo and add the text on top. Do a search for “free online ad banner maker.” Be creative in your search until you find what you like. Search graphic forums as well. They always have answers.

Now you have something to give away. And you can then be more detailed about your content with pictures of all you great product offers. You can even make an e-book about your monthly coupon deals. There are endless examples of this useful method both for your visitors and you. You can even buy for a dollar or two on e-bay some full resale right e-books to give away. anything is better than nothing, but be careful. The e-books are usually going to attract readers to other websites and not you own, So unless you can make the e-book viral and add your own website links to it, I would stay away from this.

4. Try writing an original piece on one of your favourite or well sold products.

Give the visitor some reading experiences that will be very useful to them and they can walk away more enriched in their lives ow work. They will start to bookmark more of your content and return to visit. We keep all kinds of stats and what we have found is by adding useful “takeaway” content, the number of visitors who bookmarked our content rose to over twenty percent as of this writing. It went up four points in just the last two days.

Where does it end? Well, we (me and my outsourced crew) are currently building a new software training platform for software companies to use. About three weeks ago, I only had one link in one forum pointing to the website we were using for testing this new platform. It was even in a deep sub-section of this forum. I was demonstrating how I had recoded a very popular module and made it work on any part of the Content Management System we were using as a front end website. I had alot to do, so I just left the site open for two days and figured only a few would see it.

Wrong! Google indexed the website and indexed it on two-hundred and thirty-eight different search phrased pages of it’s search engine. If that wasn’t enough to drive traffic, the percentage of bookmarking that went on in two days was two-hundred and eighty-percent! Meaning every visitor bookmarked two point eight pages per unique visitor. Sure it was targeted at the right keyword market, but thanks to Google, we started looking like the authority of the original developer’s content management system. I had to close the doors and publish a placeholder at the front while we continued to work on the site. Now if any developer wants to see the work in progress, we have to register them manually.

The take away point here, is if you make your content valuable and your visitors can instantly use it for their own advantage, you will see the bookmarking ratio go through the roof. The blog here is not even keyword specific, but at least it is the vein of “useful and usable” information. If you do the same, you can see at least one in every five people coming to your website bookmarking it. They are not doing this as an exercise. They are planning to come back!

5.Start a newsletter and have them subscribe to your feed.

“That’s weird?” You might be thinking, but here is a twist on it. You could of course setup a email sign up form and have people subscribe to your newsletter. It would be based upon your content and every time you write a useful and usable article, you would send a short email out to your list of subscribers with a link to to the original story.

But if you’re new to all of this and want to get started today, try this little twist. Make a separate category or section on your website. Blogs are best for this and if you don’t have one for your website, you can always make a tabbed link on your website pointing to your blog and make links to your website from your blog. If you are completely brand new to this idea, register at Live Spaces at MSN or Blogger at Google. Both will work fine. The photo above is shot from a Live Spaces Blog. Both are free.

**Just a side note: If you want to get your content indexed quickly (less than a day for sure) in MSN or Live Search, use Live Spaces. If you want to get indexed in Google, use Blogger.

Back to the tips. After you make a separate category and name it after the title of your newsletter, your blog will create a separate feed for each category. Please consult the help files of the blog platform of your choice about this. It’s not hard and is more like copy and paste. Anyways, copy the link to your feed category, which is now your newsletter rss feed, and create a link on your front page of your website. Place a nice rss graphic and embed the link to your feed into the rss graphic.

Take a look at the feeds on the right side. See the orange little graphic? This is what I am talking about. Now you can simply place a message beside it as we have done here on this blog. But for your newsletter, it would say something like, “Subscribe to our weekly newsletter jammed packed with great coupon deals and helpful tips on (your niche)!” Something like that.

So why the rss feed and not email? You can try both, but what works better is getting past peoples barrier of thinking all you want their email address is to spam them with your useless garbage. And of course you have been there, so you know what they are thinking and why they think this way. The best way to get over this hurdle, is to allow a very passive and non-obtrusive way for your visitors to interact with your website. And without them having to ask for permission to sign up or be bothered by you again. This is how we all think when we see “subscribe” or “register to our newsletter,” isn’t it?

You can even be different and stand out by saying, “Sorry, due to peoples perception of email and spam, we are happy to give you the same excellent service through our feed subscriptions. It’s free, and no one will call or send you e-mail ever. Your privacy is so important to us, we will only accept your email address when and only if you give it to us. If you want you can register with your email address here (link to email form registration).” This is just an idea and you can be as creative as you like, but make the point to your visitors, “Register with your email address or without your email address. The choice is always yours.”

What this does is increases the trust you need with your visitors, and makes you stand out above the rest. Also, it makes it easier for you, because you don’t have to buy a separate email service and learn all the ins and outs of sending emails and getting by all those spam filters. Besides, most people now will give you a useless Hotmail or Yahoo email address they never check up on anyways. By offering your newsletter through a feed, you are giving away your most prized commodity on your website - your great deals and useful content. And the feed does it all for you. No more messy emails and bad reputation as a spammer.

Back in 2004, I was dancing in the streets, when this protocol came my way. And if you think you can not build a subscription list on this, you can gleam from this little information here. We jumped over two thousand feed impressions in just the last two days alone. This means our feed is franchised over many other websites. And every time visitors on other websites click onto their web pages with our feed embedded into it, our stories are seen.

We even have stats on that as well. We have found when people visit our website from our stories being published through our main feed here on other websites, we see a conversion of one new unique visitor coming to our website out of every nine point eight three (9.83) people who see our stories on some other website. And it’s free traffic. Not free that we have to do everything to create and host it, but free in getting our messages out.

The take away point here is you can get alot more visitors turned into customers by lowering their guard and email barriers through feed subscriptions than you could ever possibly do with e-mail alone. And it’s free to do with very little effort and learning curve.

Conclusion: The idea here is to have new and relevant content. Through time you can have as much as 150 thousand in unique visitor traffic to your website and really start to make some serious money. In Web 2.0, it’s all about the user experience. By offering useful and usable information. In short, no one goes to their computer and does a search, finds your site and buys. They are information seekers at best. So remember that hard goods do well for rural communities, and poorly for metropolitan areas.

On this beta site we let people come and see what we are up to and when we will get things done (Come on already!!!LOL!). There’s nothing to sell, but alot of great ideas you can use. This is the new method of marketing. It’s giving away everything, while people keep asking to pay you for your other services, because some people want more of whatever you are offering. It’s one way, not my favourite method. But it gives you an idea, which is to say, make it easy for people to stick around with no loaded gun pressure, like, “act now,” or “only X amount left,” or “order now, because after X amount is sold, I’m going to double the price.”

All are absolute pressure tactics and attract hordes of desperate people. Which in the end make them even more desolate and more desperate. Unlike this content, which costs you nothing and you walk away with some better ideas on Five Sure Fire Ways To Turn Visitors Into Repeat Customers. Now it’s you turn. What are some Sure Fire Ways To Turn Visitors Into Repeat Customers you are using? Let us know and I’ll add them to the list here and change the number of Sure Fire Ways To Turn Visitors Into Repeat Customers in this piece.

Thanks for dropping by! Another thing you can do here is click on the bookmark button found on every story here. When you click on it, you can add it to any of your favourite bookmark sites so others can share the same user experience you did. This is the new way of “tell a friend.” Now you can share with everyone. And thanks in advance for that!
