We indexed at the number one position on Google for our article titled, Increasing The Speed of Indexing Content On Google. Even more amazing was the fact we beat out all other content indexed by The Google Search Engine by 2,540,000 to 1.
Not bad for a first time out. And with no links pointing to the article from an outside website. More startling to us was to note only the words, “Increasing Speed Indexing Content” were what Google deemed relevant. This was the most interesting portion of our study. For it foretold what the Google Search Engine Algorithm deemed worthy of indexing.
Clearly, “The Of On Google” were of no interest to it. The actual article will need to be studied further to decide why only the keywords “Increasing Speed Indexing Content” were responsible for this article to be indexed at the number one position on Google.
I did take a look at it and if you thought keyword density had anything to do with how Google indexes articles and website content, this would be almost the last element to look for. On the contrary, you will find only one mention within the article where there is any mention of a number one position at all. In fact, I noticed Matt Cutts (Google’s very own SEO Agent) was indexed in second position. And Ezine Articles was somewhere in sixth position.
So what gives? I would say, the cats out of the bag. And Google’s search engine algorithm has been changed to remain so fuzzy, as to emulate true human form. Meaning, write from your heart, write often, and let your natural style shine through. Great, but how do we position high in the indexing results of Google? Well if you see the four words Google only saw as relevant content, this would be a first clue.
Lets take a closer look. I found an increase in speed, a test in speed, measure the speed, indexing of content, general indexing results, indexing content, exact content here, and deem the content. All of these phrases have alot in common. They are related in structure, and thereby are related in content. The related keyword phrases, the more likelihood of the article having a more universal and more in depth look at these primary keywords.
Google decided our article was about “Increasing Speed Indexing Content.” Pure and simple. Google had decided to take the first meaning of the word speed and attach increasing to it. The same could be true about the word content and the first attached meaning found, being indexing content. So why is this true? I believe it is because these keywords were found in the the title of the article and Google’s Algorithm then goes to prove or disprove the content based around the title of the article.
If Google finds immediate relevant keywords in the first sentence or two which are found in the title, then Google’s Algorithm determines this to be the first factor in relevant content and also content worthy of indexing under these exact keywords it finds in the first two sentences or do. What it is looking for is relevancy to the title of the article itself.
The second factor Google’s Algorithm is searching for in determining indexing an article at a number one position more than a number two position, or third or fourth position, for that matter. Is the number of times these keywords in the title are used throughout the article in varied meanings. For example if we want to index highly in the search engines, we need to think in lateral terms, rather than vertical structures.
It’s not just about position, but positions as a whole within the hierarchy of the indexed search engine results. It’s not about just being in the number one position on Google, but also about being in the alphabetical position on Yahoo’s Directory. And what about sorting results as comparable to indexed results, or indexed engine results?
If you want to be indexed at the number one position on Google or indexed at number one on Yahoo, you will need to start thinking about lateral design as much as you think of indexed number one positions in Google and through other search engines such as MSN. Because in the end, Google is indexing writing styles more than ever, rather than mathematically previsioned keywords. The days of proximity have somewhat wained past the first two sentences to a wide open sea of creativity and expression.

Actually we ended up positioning for several number one positions first time out. One I particularly like was for “new blog look.” We indexed in fourth position for two hundred and eighty million (280,000,000) results.
And there were others. Like number one out of twenty four million (24,000,000). If you do a broad search for any of our content titles here, you will in most cases see number one positions. The great part of indexing is you can always see where you need to do some new work improvements. And re-write your content.
As far as back linking, we have found you only need one or possibly two high profile back links to index in the top position. It’s all in the “wrist.” - Your writing style.
