What’s Wrong With Word Press?

If you have been banging around in the dark with Word Press’ Content Management System, you are far from alone. And  if your were attracted to the free Fantastico Module which might have came with your C-Panel Hosting Account, you are in the family of millions of such Word Press Owners. And if you have never taken the time to learn the Personal Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) Language, welcome to being one of the nearly billion strong who are out of “the loop.”

The Loop is a slang used in Word Press circles to define a continuous result produced from PHP. The glaring example of this is Word Press as a “Blog.”  You write, click a “Post” Button and the PHP Scripts process the “data” and…., well you get the picture. Since you can do this over and over again and the scripts come to rest each time, Word Press have used the term, “Loop” as the best method to describe the process.

Boring as baby pablum I know, but there it is, the mechanics of Word Press. There is alot more, but the introduction here would turn out to be a sixty plus volume  set of three ten pound books at least. My point is what is wrong with Word Press is to ask the question backwards. What’s wrong with the billion or so Internauts who use Word Press?

Lack of skills and education is the answer. When the Internet came on stream in 1993, Bill Gates and the founder of Netscape, along with a couple of thousand telecom companies and a slew of government bodies; thought it would be the “new frontier.”  They dreamed of a “super information highway.” Remember?

What they meant was for people like you to use the Internet, not build it! Leave that job to the skilled IT engineers who went to university for at least four years through the computer science faculty.  For the rest of us, we were supposed to just buy computers with 175 mhz speeds and 32 megs of RAM, hook up to the telephone lines and read what was available through most educational institutions. It was supposed to be a “global library,” nothing more.

To answer the question, what’s wrong with the billion or so Internauts who use Word Press?;  you need to ask the question how did we get so far from the original dream? It all starts with government and capitalism disguised as entrepreneurialism. The ideology of making a buck off other people’s otherwise everyday mundane tasks. In this case, reading library books. Some one thought, “Hey wouldn’t it be great if we could place ads in the books at the library and charge for them and give some of the money to the book publishers?”

Meet the “Infomediary.” An new online industry of selling information for a price. And meet the new “Search Marketer,” who now has a completely new “frontier” to sell advertising in. No one thought in that one meeting to say, “Hey guys, we already have that. It’s called a magazine. It’s been around here since the turn of the century (the last century). But know one wanted to hear from someone who was about to dissolve the pink clouded mystical dream of the “new super information highway.”

Well now that we have answered where this “seed of evil” stemmed from (greed - i.e. to profit from another in such an excessive manner as to leave the other person in a worse position than they would have otherwise been in, had the act not taken place against them at all).

We can now ask the questions in a forward manner.  What’s wrong with the billion or so Internauts who use Word Press? Lack of education and skills. As people we want to express ourselves, be noticed, be liked, be appreciated, and be able to do it at a very affordable price. Meet the new Internauts. These are all of us using the “information highway” in a different way. We have through our own actions, transformed this “information highway” into a multi-laned “Connection Highway.” Information was great, communication was far better, connecting with other people has been the most explosive realm of the Internet today.

And those businesses who attached the Internet to any of our five senses were the big winners. First it was E-bay, a garage and flea market where buyers and sellers ultimate dream come true. Then Goggle with easy information at your finger tips. The next sense was sight and with it came YouTube. But the picture came full circle when it was pictures of everything we do, when we do it. Through the development of digital cameras being inserted into cellular phones and all the hard drives in video cameras coming on board, humanity was experiencing something very profound. A collective global consciousness of each other. Finally we were “complete.” This void in us we all longed to fill in each of us has finally for some, become their utopia.

That’s great, but  what’s wrong with the billion or so Internauts who use Word Press? The answer is it is only a few million of us who don’t get it. We’re too busy trying to make a buck off our fellow man and we lack the engineering skill to pull it all together. What’s wrong with us is the same question, “Why did they sell computers to people who have no programming education? It’s was insane then and only recently has it become “viable” to sell computers to consumers. Televisions are for consumers and computers are for programmers. Greedy people sold us on two of our primary senses, light and color. Why do you think Microsoft used four colors in the beginning? Just look at the light in the screen as a comparison to your own drab life back in 1995.

Those who had very little going on, bought into this new “frontier.” A place where know one would know your real name, see who you really are, and therefore could only love you for who you “said” you were. And “see” you for who you “published a photo” of what you looked like. Now everyone “loved” you. You were finally being accepted for who you really wanted to be. Rather than shunned for who your really became all those years before.

And you were not alone. Millions flogged to the Internet in a utopial escapism type of excitement. Offline some people were absolute dweebs. They stunk, rarely brushed their teeth, were not exactly someone most would hang around with. And so with so much time on their hands , they invested their time developing the web through forum and website content. It was a really magical day for those who embraced phpBB (PHP Bulletin Boards).

All of a sudden they weren’t someone slumming around in their mother’s basement, they were now respected Internet Kings. And with a bank roll to boot, they attracted the money of all who were too blind to see the real truth of the Internet. The truth that there is no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow (reference the first bubble burst of 2000). The only survivors were the weasles who had your email address and continuously fed us their “offers.”

With no one else talking to us, we gladly leached on to any humanity we could find and gladly threw and wasted thousands of dollars on useless software and information get rich schemes. Reference Click Bank in all it’s glory. The truth was and still is, “If you build it, know one will come.” Except of course, your relatives out of shear kindness. Who will then say, “That’s nice, now lets go out to the mall and do some shopping for some real fun!”

The reality is unless you get a serious education in programming, and/or alot of money, you are always going to be looking in from the outside. The ones who are laughing all the way to the bank, are the ones who learned how to do something well and sell their skills. Or at least publish for profit their know how. Then come the Search Marketers to “monetize” this knowledge.

So to answer the question, “Whats wrong with Word Press is to know what’s wrong with the few million of us still attempting to “build” the web, rather than contribute to it.  And to ultimately enjoy the “Connection Highway.”  If you are not a programmer, stop right now trying to be one. Spend the valuable time you have left with your family and friends. Go do something else with your time and enjoy the Internet like any other channel on your television set.

When you have that frame of mind, you’ll open the world around you to many new profitable opportunities. Plus you’ll have many more “real” friends, not ones who “poke” you, or appear to be your friend because they can click a mouse button on a website that “confirms” they accept you as a friend. Yeah right, give me a break.

Now if you are still obsessed as I am about the web and the new exciting opportunities it beholds, stay tuned. It won’t be much longer, and you can stop reading all those programming books, spending hundreds of hours “trying to figure it all out.” Relax, we already solved it for you. No more “building” please. No more late nights looking at the “light and colors.” Soon you will actually have a real life online and more of a life offline.

I just spent two weeks with hackers, and nasty ones I might add.  Plus I had to rebuild one machine from the ground up. The only good thing out of it, is I always build a system hundreds of percentages better in every way. Faster, streamlined, better security, better performance. It’s April now, and it took me two more weeks more than I wanted to. I am back on track again after conquering a necessary evil, toolbars and site hackers. No not this one, another one.

With new platforms, comes a new team. I am very excited about what is coming, but for you, at least now you’ll be able to stop being a “geek” and start being an Internet King, without learning how to build and program. And you get to keep your morality and ethics (what you leave with when you pass over into the “light”.LOL)

Finally, unless you are going to seriously take a post secondary education in programming languages, at least PHP and server management, you will do yourself a world of good and those around you, if you just stop right now.  There’s no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, no matter who tells you this. All there ever was, was the illusion of gold. You had to sell your ethics and morality down the river and give into your inherent trait known as greed. I won’t repeat what has already been said above about that one.

And now you know why I have been “on the Internet” for 13 years and only last year, did I even venture to “make a buck off my fellow man.” At least it was ethical and the other man profited from it. And there lies the key. You will always hear, “I will guarantee your success.” It should actually read, “I will guarantee your success if you do what I did, in selling your fellow man the hyped out product I am telling you here. If you have a hard time selling people the same productI am selling you, which is to say, Sell unto others and never buy anything, then you will make nothing but money. However, if it bothers you to sell something that you know the other person will have to do the same thing and you understand failure only occurs as soon as someone stops selling this product, then you should not buy this product. It is so dirty morally and ethically, that is smacks of a pyramid scheme. Otherwise click the order button and I’ll be glad to take you to the cleaners as many thousands have and will experience. Thank you.”

Of course, this is the content which is placed in between the lines of the hyped out product, which you can not see on the page; because you are seduced by all the promises and guarantees.  Well, I speak from many experiences and this is exactly how the state of the web is most of the time. Now and then though, you get a “break” and connect with some great people and software. I have had those experiences as well.

The experience of both is what I have and in a few weeks here in April, you’ll be sheltered from these poor experiences above and benefit far greater from the good ones. I have found an online business practice where you can feel good about yourself, connect with others, sleep at night, and do it for decades online. It’s our new platform I have been working since last January, almost everyday.
