Where Things are Now.

It’s taken almost twice as long to rebuild my local systems. And yes, I ran into a few trojans and viruses on the way to re-building as well. However, the new systems are the best defense systems against hackers I have ever assembled in the past thirteen years. I could be ultra paranoid and not even allow registry changes which happen daily here with Windows Defender or Iolo’s virus updates. But that would require a full-time staff around the clock to supervise and grant permissions to every change here.

Instead, we have set heuristics, which pre-determine behaviors of trojans and viruses. Then we just look at the morning logs to restore any false positives. This has proven to be the best method for the past week. We get false positives, but with the new threats out there, we feel this saves us from the hackers. I saw a television news story last week on national news talking about then new increase in global threats online. I believe they are China and Middle eastern based, after I look at my log files.

One of the better things to come out of re-building is going streamlined. We have 25% more space on all drives and now only use 25% volume. This allows for faster processing. Plus the registry file has some down by 90%. This is after ten years of migrations of developing operating systems.

We also took Microsoft’s advise and relocated duplicate backups of complete operating systems off site. Now if a fire or theft occurs we are protected and up within the same day. This does not affect websites we run, just local access points on local systems in our network.  So it took us about 21 days to get back where we were, working on our platform. I have been through many backups and constant re-building with installs. Each one has to be set up for preferences and options. My Fire Fox Browser took two separate re-builds and over four hours to re-build. I use alot of excellent plugins to save and improve performance of online businesses.

In the meantime, I have also been going through reviews and downloading dozens of developers software extensions to help me speed up the completion of ur platform. And with this, comes extra business in providing training. I have held off all takers until I get where I want to be. Which is to provide a new software training platform.  I could live out a few decades at this one site, but I have six other major platforms to work on for the rest of the year.

In short, imagine every software pack you buy, coming with the most imaginable improvements in training and customer support. All at once, all at the same time, at every software company and developer. Just short of this, with training you have not yet imagined, is where things are now. I am installing server software right now and wil be for a good two weeks until it is all tested.

Then comes the training packages and webinar schedules for the next three months, everyday. I tak eweekemds off (lie) but others wil be providing many webinars  while I work on Interactive Training PAckages for about a dozen or so major software products. Then, we will open for something spectacular we will only release when we are open.

After this, I will start opening up the platform for all software companies to use. They will provide what they can in personell, and we will provide the rest of the people and resources needed.  There will always be something for everyone and at every price point starting with zero cost. This way, no one will be disappointed.

It’s been quite the journey since late January and no we did not anticpate the increase in hacker attacks, but it made us ten times stronger becasue of it. In hnd sight it was best it all happened before we opened the doors. This way, we can go about our business, while hackers make every known attempt to break us. We will be able to monitor all hack attacks on our local systems as well as our servers where our websites are. We will have full disclosure and counter attacks ready and automated.

I expected this to happen some ten years ago, so backed with all the tracing tools and our own trojan files ready to  feed to hackers, the new age of survival is on.  A piece of advise: Make alliances with people who have been around for at least ten years using the same server software you use. Then hire them to give you everything they know about thwarting hacker attacks on their websites. Go with someone who is experiencing 250K or better a onth in original unique visitors monthly.  You will hit hacker attacks at about the 5K a month level, but serious paid hackers are up in the higher traffic areas as this si where they get paid more to be a pain in your side. And if you can’t beat them, hire them! They will make you stronger.

Finally, the snow still blows here in Canada as it will for three days straight this weekend. How nice. This measnwith the above three week delay, we will now be working staright through into May, before we are open with Bryxen’s Webinars as our first order of the day. “We’ll just have to take our beatings as we go along.”
